Squaring In The…

Thought that title might lead you to wonder about the newest Clinton County Country Squares adventure! Let me give you a teeny bit of background. Frontier Squares is a large club, located in Milford, OH, with a 100 + membership roster. CCCS has a warm relationship with Frontier Squares. We both reciprocate visits between our clubs quite often. Frontier Squares supports our Spring and Fall Dances at the Michael Solomon Pavilion in Dayton, OH. Occasionally, CCCS will visit one of their Friday evening dances.

Whew, to make a long blog short, (which may not be possible for a chatty person like me), CCCS had the privilege to raid Frontier Squares “20th Annual Picnic In The Park Square Dance.” It was held at the Nisbet Park Shelter in historic Loveland, OH. Our appetites were completely satisfied with the large carry-in that consisted of fried chicken, probably about fourty side dishes and a zillion desserts to choose from. We talked and talked, just like ole’ friends. Around 7:30 pm, the squaring begin with Jack Pladdys. Stuart Lewis cued the rounds and Barb and Tim Bennett taught and cued lines. The dancing was beyond words. It was so magical because once it started, one was not able to sit down.

We were “Squaring In The Park” for a good reason, to have the honor of sharing in Frontier Squares Annual Summer Celebration! CCCS can’t wait for next year!

Hi. I am a member of Clinton County Country Squares who wants to share the art and love of square dancing. All it takes is one square or round dance to catch the "dancing bug!" It is such a joy!
